Trey Anderson and Dustin Garrison

PEARLAND — CLOSE FRIENDS ON OPPOSITE SIDES - Last year, Pearland QB Trey Anderson (10) and RB Dustin Garrison (29) helped Pearland to a first-ever state championship. Last Saturday, the close friends found themselves on opposite sidelines as Anderson, who is the backup QB for Pitt and Garrison, who is the starting running back for West Virginia, were wanting to see their team win. In the end, West Virginia pulled out a thrilling 21-20 victory.

Garrison broke the freshman single-game rushing record against Bowling Green earlier in the season with 291 yards on 32 carries and two touchdowns. The speedster leads the Mountaineers in rushing with 655 yards and five touchdowns. He also has 190 yards receiving.

Both players have an incredible future, both in the classroom and on the playing field.
