Head Coach - Tony Heath

Tony Heath graduated from West Texas State University with a B.S. in Education. The Lubbock, Texas native is in his 15th year at the helm of the Pearland Oilers football program. He is married to wife, Rhonda, and they have two children, Connor, age 15, and Kendal, age 13.
After the Oilers were 6-63-1 from 1990-1996 - Heath has seen his Pearland teams register a 13 year record of 117-38 making him the winningest coach in PHS history with the 2001 squad setting a new PHS record at 13-1 with a trip to the Class 5A Division I state semifinals.
The Oilers won the District 24-5A crown that season with a perfect 7-0 mark and won a first-ever Class 5A Region III title. Pearland also won the Class 5A Region III Division I crown in 2006 and advanced to the 5A Division I state semifinals.
Heath received District 24-5A and the Houston Chronicle's "Coach of the Year" honors in 2001. He has been a "Coach of the Year" finalist by the Touchdown Club of Houston in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, and 2008.
Pearland is going for a record 11th consecutive playoff appearance in 2010. In 2009, the Oilers were District 22-5A Co-Champions and finished with an 8-3 mark with a loss in the opening round of the post-season. Pearland won the 22-5A title in 2008 with a perfect 10-0 regular season mark. The Oilers went on to finish with a sparkling 12-1 mark with their only blemish coming in the 5A Region III Division I finals.
The Oilers return to District 24-5A for the 2010 and 2011 season after the realignment by the University Interscholastic League (UIL).
Despite all the attention directed toward Heath since coming to Pearland -- he has been very humble and grateful for the success that his teams have received and continues to direct all the credit to his players and coaches.
Over the past 13 years, Heath and the Pearland Oilers have a 117--38 record. Pearland is the third winningest football program in the Houston area during this time and they are the 10th winningest football program in the state over the past 10 years of all classes. The Oilers will be considered one of the favorites to win the 24-5A title in 2010 and will no doubt make a run in the playoffs once again.
