Clear Lake nips Freshman White 24-16
The Pearland Freshman team lost a hard-fought district opener to
the Clear Lake Falcons by a score of 24-16.
Both teams played tough in the the first half that finished in an
8-8 tie.
The Oilers tied the game at 16-16 with less than four minutes left
in the fourth quarter. However, the Falcons answered the challenge
and drove 65 yards for the go-ahead touchdown with a minute left
in the game.
Kirshon Lewis scored both touchdowns for the Oilers while Mathew
Garcia added to the scoring with a two-point conversion.
The Oilers offense line lead by Chris Gafney, Chris Mitchell, Pernell
Dumah, Donte Patterson, Cody Cole and Kyle Due did an outstanding
job of opening holes for Lewis and Garcia.
The Oilers will host the Brazoswood Buccaneers on Thursday, October
4, at Prensner Stadium at 4:30 p.m.
