Coach Buck Brooks

Buck Brooks became coach of the Pearland Oilers in 1947. He had two bi-district championships in six-man football and was the first coach when Pearland began playing 11-man football in 1949. The Oilers went undefeated in 1950 and won a playoff game that season before falling in the second round to finish with an 11-1 mark. That was the last playoff win for Pearland until coach Tony Heath's 2000 squad beat Deer Park 35-13 at the Astrodome which was the first playoff victory for the Oilers in 50 years.
